Traffic chaos marks start of Festival

After taking an hour to get into central Hull it's 4pm and I am sat in the car park near Albion Car Park watching rehearsals take place in sector 1 in the map! Consult your map and work out where the Working Class Heroes are.

At this late hour the Northern Irish manager decides there is not enough space for rocking - they'll be doing that later in the tents in Princess Gardens.

I head up the newly laid paving stones with great wheelchair access now past 7 on the map where there will be clowning about later.

No Number Street art for me though the traffic is chock-a-block in all directions but in town it is quiet and raining. My idea of art is a huge Costa coffee along with local police.

So here's a sneak preview of a dance celebration of lives and daily struggles by local Southpaw Dance Company. Hop along to Albion Park Street Car Park map ref. 1 tomorrow to see a free performance of Rush. It starts at 8.30 pm. Sat. only. An N.Irish slave driver was putting the cast through their many turns for hours this damp Friday evening.
